For all traveller's that do not know the resilience of the Mexican people, for all that have never had the opportunity to see the cultures and tradions of our Mexican friends in Melaque and Barra, we invite you to come and experience the warmth in our towns after Hurricane Jova. Although the hurricane changed the face of the beach,we are bouncing back quickly and most bussiness that suffered damage are already opened or soon will be and new businesses are popping up in Barra and Melaque. In all of our travels to Mexico I don't think we've ever felt more welcomed or more at home as when we stayed in Barry and Barbara's Junior Suite at Villa Santa Barbara. Upon our arrival, after mentioning we'd be happy with a coffee pot and some coffee for our room, we were presented with a fully cooked, freshly prepared, complete, out-of-this-world delicious barbecued chicken dinner; still warm, prepared by Dora who is an excellent cook and is the caretaker's wife. How many places would do that for their guests? Completely free. After a long flight we were exhausted and so hungry and that dinner could not have tasted better. To top that off I mentioned to Barb that it was my husband's birthday and asked where I might buy a birthday cake to surprise him with. The next thing I knew she had ordered the cake from a local caterer, bought balloons and streamers, and was on her way to the store to buy groceries for a special dinner she and Barry helped us to prepare and enjoy with the other guests staying at the villa. This, I think, tells the story of how Barb and Barry go out of their way to accommodate their guests. Their staff is wonderful!. Everything is very clean and well maintained, beautifully decorated, and is in a very quiet and peaceful setting. Barra de Navidad is a lovely, quaint little town. One in which I have never felt safer. My husband and I are already planning on going back next year and will probably be staying at Villa Santa Barbara again only this time we may have family with us and stay in the Penthouse Suite.

We found Villa Santa Barbara to be a luxurious Mexican Oasis on a quaint canal waterfront setting. My husband and I came to Barra for a restful fun getaway & we found it here! Barb & Barry are fun, easy going gracious hosts. Every suite is private. One of the best features is the crystal clean pool & patio area. We can envision coming here again & sharing this great place with our family.

"We were the first guests to stay in the Penthouse suite - it was perfect! There was lots of room inside and out. Barry & Barb were fabulous hosts - anything we needed, they found it for us. We had a "fiesta" with them and the other guests one night... lots of fun!
