Wake up to sunshine every morning and have coffee steps away from the seaway where you can watch the local fisherman head out for the day. Every morning the French Baker comes by boat to our dock with fresh croissants, cinnamon buns, bread and delicious deserts. Swim in the pool, sway in the hammock or have happy hour on the roof top.

Getting around is easy! You can walk, rent a bike, take water taxi to or from our dock, hire an inexpensive taxi, take the bus, or rent a car or golf cart!

Barra de Navidad & Melaque

The villages of Barra de Navidad and Melaque are situated on far ends of a beautiful Pacific bay. These quaint Mexican seaside villages are home to deep-sea fishing, golfing, bird watching, world-class surfing, swimming and snorkeling. Barra de Navidad is home to a popular “pickle ball” court, which is only 5 minutes away from the Villa. Everyone is welcome to play.

From street vendors and side walk cafe’s to fine dining, Barra de Navidad offers an amazing selection of dining experiences, thanks, in part, to the abundance and diversity of fresh fruit, produce and seafood in the region. Everything you need can be supplied locally.

Music music, Music!!! It is everywhere, on street corners, in restaurant’s, at Sunset bars and more! Dance the night way listening to some of the best Musicians around from Locals and visitors who just appear! We are the home of the famous Bandito’s, Salvador and many more!

The best place to stay in Barra! Villa Santa Barbara was such a gem to find! Not only are Barb and Barry the friendliest hosts we've ever had but they made our vacation amazing. They have been spending time in Barra for over 12 years and they know the area extremely well. All of their recommendations for restaurants, beaches, stores and things to do were amazing. The Villa itself is also fantastic. We stayed in the Junior Suite and it had everything we needed (full bathroom, kitchen, fridge, water cooler with drinking water, comfortable king size bed).

Exactly what we needed We have stayed at Barb and Barry’s villa twice and can’t say enough about our hosts or the villa itself! Barb and Barry are friendly and gracious with great advice and suggestions available for the asking. The place is one-of-a-kind. Beautiful artwork by Barb blends so well with the eclectic decor. Staff bustle around each morning keeping the place to a high standard of cleanliness. The beds are comfy, linens cozy and rental units well above average for a Mexican off-resort holiday experience. We will be back!

Fabulous Mexican Get Away Our first time to the Villa Santa Barbara and it won't be our last.!! The stylish canal front compound has 3 well appointed suites; a two bedroom penthouse, c/w roof top patio, while we stayed in the junior suite for 7 nights, and the Master for 2. We made ample use of the cooking facilities, the two out door grills and ice machine specifically!! The courtyard design defines outdoor living, centered with a pool, a palapa on one side, a screened patio on the other, and lawn chairs strategically positioned throughout the area. More
